Year Three History Walk

Our History Walk

On Monday, the year 3's went on a history walk around Greensborough. We had to look for old and new things like old cars and old houses. When we walked down Williams Street, we saw a cemetery and the Year 3 classes got to read the plaque and we got to walk around the cemetery. We were all very excited to go on the walk but of course it was very windy and cold as ever. The streets we went down were Williams Street and down Hailes Street. We also went over a wobbly bridge beside Partingtons Flat. We went past the railway and past a river. It was really fun! It was a really tiring and fun experience. There were a few of old
things and lots new things that we could compare against each other. There were some old
stone steps, a old car and even a wooden house!

"Making The World A Better Place!"

Friendship Bracelets
In class 3M we have been working on making the world a better place. Three of our students have started an anti-bullying club. They started it because they realized that some of our students in the school were being bullied. They wanted to help them out by stopping bullies and making them feel happy! Watch this video of a little girl who wants to help the world be a better place. This is the link:

Scienceworks

“At first we arrived at Scienceworks, we got off the bus and went to Alice in Wonderland exhibition. There was a little tunnel and we all went through it. On the other side there was a little world in a cabinet with a half sphere with a camera on the end. There was a mat there with a big dice. We went to next place, it was a place with golf balls and a track to put them on. There was also a house you could put your hands and head through. After we went to the Energy Lab to watch the show about the Sun, Moon and Earth. Then we went to the Planetarium and saw the stars movie. It was a great day at Scienceworks.” Cooper F

“On Thursday the 27th of August we all went to Scienceworks. It took us 1 hour to get there. When we arrived there we put our bag on the shelves and got our snacks out. First we went to Alice in Wonderland tunnel and I went through to the other room. Then we went to the sports room. After we had a little snack and went down to the Energy Lab. At the Energy Lab we learnt the Earth is very tiny compared to the Sun. Then after lunch we all went upstairs to the Planetarium. The movie was very funny. When it finished we got on the bus and went back to school.” T’Shen

“Yesterday we went to Scienceworks. First we got on the bus and it took an hour to get there. When we got there we went to the Alice in Wonderland exhibition and some of us fell through the hole. I didn’t, I went around. There were lots of things even a room that makes you seem smaller and taller. Then we went to Sportsworks. Cooper and I raced and Cooper won. There was a place to pitch a baseball and I got it through the hole. I also did rock climbing and got to the top. Then we had lunch. After we watched Sun, Moon and Earth show. Then we had snack. Next we went to the Planetarium to watch a movie about the seasons and the stars.” Yianni

Inquiry

This term, our Inquiry unit “Earth and Beyond” provided us with an opportunities to explore the geography of our world and beyond. We really enjoyed researching and discovering more about our environment and different places in our world.

The Feast of the Assumption

On Friday the 14th of August, we celebrated The Feast of the Assumption.
3M reflected on the traits of our own mothers and the pivotal role they play in our lives.
Each of us created our own Mary chalk picture.
